A gene-typo [ generative typography ] is a collection of typograms (characters, letters, numbers, symbols, punctuation marks and so on) which have the same, distinct generative design.

GeneTypo
Project
GeneTypo is a typographical work-in process project by creative coder Toni Mitjanit. It consists of the arrangement, style and appearance of typefaces through different generative techniques, based on computational creativity and using creative coding. The main aim of the project is to explore different generative techniques and procedural approaches in order to produce generative, experimental, transitional, and virtual typographies.
GeneTypo project’s approach is to conceive and create each letter as if it were an emergent artwork piece. The fundamental design principles, like the balance, proportion, perspective, emphasis, movement, pattern, repetition, rhythm, variety, harmony, and unity take an important role into the conceptual design and implementation of every generative typeface.
Features
GeneTypo

Parametrized
Parametrized typography refers to the fact that some external values, options or typeface properties can be set or updated at any time of generative process.

Transitional
Changes in the type size, weight, orientation and position over time can be used in order to enhance the expressiveness of typographic messages.

Data-driven
Data-driven typography is about involving data (text, audio, image, video) from different sources (files, web, social networks) in different parts of the creative process.

Virtual
Virtual typography is about producing sensible solutions for conveying text messages gradually and effectively within media environments. Virtual typography is time- and rhythm-bound.

Generative
Generative typography refers to any typography that in whole or in part has been created with the use of a self-governed or an autonomous system.

Interactive
Interactive typography is about designing realtime typographies through the user interaction on an reactive system using any device such as mouse, keyboard, micro or webcamera.
GeneTypo approach is to conceive and create each letter as if it were an emergent artwork piece.
Outputs
GeneTypo
Font Files
Collection of font files (otf & ttf) created from some of these generative typos.
Posters
Collection of posters, banners or flyers using these generative typos.
Videos
Videos using these generative typos in their titles, credits, or text animations.
Interactions
Some experimental and interactive code sketches to play with genetypos.
